Aromatic Lamb Curry

• ½ cup plain yogurt
• 2 cloves garlic, peeled
• 2 slices ginger, each the size of a quarter
• 1 shallot, peeled and coarsely chopped
• 1-2 fresh red or green jalapeno chilies, seeded
• 1 tablespoon curry powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 pound boneless lean lamb
• 8 okra pods, stemmed
• 8 baby potatoes
• 1 small onion, sliced
• 1 cinnamon stick
• 1 cup water
• 2 tablespoon lemon juice
• 1 tomato, cut into wedges
• Cilantro, for garnish

Directions

1. In a blender, puree the first 7 items.
2. Transfer to a medium mixing bowl.
3. Add the lamb, coat both side to let marinate for 1hour.
4. Put the mixture, okra, potatoes, onion, cinnamon stick, and water into a bowl of the rice cooker and stir well.
5. Transfer to the bowl to the rice cooker.
6. Close the lid and set on rice setting. Cook until lamb is tender
7. About 1 hour. Before serving, stir in lemon juice and garnish with Tomatoes and cilantro.
